Eat the frog

E

Sunday. 6am. Awake.
Exercise required…

One problem.
To get to the best bit of the bike ride there’s a hill to climb.
This is the frog I need to eat this morning.

Once I’ve beaten the hill…
Flat, quiet country lanes
The chance of spotting a deer
Fields full of poppies
A chance to enjoy the ride

Where did the phrase ‘Eat the frog’ come from?
Mark Twain said that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you know that it is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long.

The frog isn’t just a weekend visitor.
We’ve all seen him Monday to Friday

– The difficult conversation
– The complex analysis
– The overdue expenses claim

Eat these ‘frogs’ first thing
Put them at the top of the TO DO list
Don’t let them live on the TO DON’T list
Avoid shortcuts around them
Approach them with a can do attitude

Eat the frog
